What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Wind River Hotel and Casino?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Write patron’s food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
- Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Collect payments from tables.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Help food preparation staff when necessary.
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with cooks, other staff, and customers.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Very good communication skills.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- All other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Must be able to work in a secondhand smoke environment
- Must be dependable, reliable, and able to work alternating shifts including peak hours, promotions, holidays, and weekends
- Must be 18 at time of hire.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Must be able to demonstrate their US work authorization during the employment verification process.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Test.
- Must have a valid Wyoming Driver’s License
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
