Wind River Systems, a subsidiary of Aptiv PLC, is a California-based software company which develops embedded systems and cloud software consisting of real time operating systems (RTOS), industry-specific software, simulation technology, development tools and middleware.
This new business unit will re-sell Wind River products to be used by or for the U.S. government customers. These products may be delivered through the professional services organizations of Wind River Systems (case of unclassified programs) or via the Wind River business (in the case of classified programs).
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the Accounts Receivable functions for a newly formed US business unit serving the U.S. government, Department of Defense and similar customers . The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing of transactions, managing cash flow, optimizing financial procedures, and tax registrations and payments to maintain efficiency and compliance. This role requires a strong ability to work independently, analytical skills, and attention to detail to support the company's financial health and reporting.
This position is based in Washington DC and reports directly to the President and Senior Management Official (SMO) of the new business unit.
This person will collaborate with both Wind River Systems and Aptiv, ensuring reporting requirements are met in accordance with established procedure.
ABOUT YOU
Responsibilities :
- Oversee AR operations, including invoicing, collections, cash applications, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables, reducing aged accounts and minimizing bad debt.
- Work closely with internal departments and customers to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Implement strategies to improve AR processes and enhance cash flow.
- Maintain accurate customer records and credit limits to manage credit risk effectively.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to AP / AR, cash flow, and working capital management.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Oversee tax registrations and tax payments to ensure compliance with Federal and State tax requirements.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
