WTR Search is seeking a Quality Health & Safety Manager to work with a rapidly growing Wind Gearbox Company. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety across all aspects of operations. This role plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing quality management systems and fostering a culture of safety excellence within the organization.
The position is based in Big Spring, TX. Relocation assistance is available.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Quality Management :
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS)
Establish quality control processes for all phases of production
Conduct regular audits and inspections
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Provide training and support to employees
Health & Safety Management :
Develop and implement an effective health and safety management system (HSMS)
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses
Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures
Provide ongoing safety training and education to employees, contractors, and visitors
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions
Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards governing the wind energy industry in Texas, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI / ISO standards
Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and industry best practices
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Supplier and Customer Quality Assurance :
Establish quality criteria and specifications for components and materials procured from suppliers, and conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance
Collaborate with customers to understand their quality requirements and expectations, and address any concerns or issues related to product quality or performance
Continuous Improvement :
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and health & safety, and implement measures to improve performance and efficiency
Facilitate quality improvement initiatives and projects, such as Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
REQUIREMENTS
5 years of Quality Management and / or health & safety leadership roles, preferably in the wind energy or manufacturing industry
3-5 years of experience leading and managing audits, inspections, and incident investigations
ISO 9001 auditor or implementation experience, ISO Process definition, application, and communication
Strong knowledge of quality management principles, techniques, and tools, such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
Familiarity with health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to the wind energy sector, including OSHA regulations
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, and relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ, NEBOSH) required
