Windemere Park Senior Living Facility and Rehab is a Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing facility currently looking for a RN to join the Management Team as an Assistant Director of Nursing. The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting our Director of Nursing in planning and directing the functions of the nursing department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Daily responsibilities of an Assistant Director of Nursing:
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary
- Ensure that direct nursing care be provided by a licensed nurse, a CNA, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure
- Review nurses’ notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes
- Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary
- Responsible for weekend management coverage and on-call duties on a rotating basis or as needed.
- Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in-service training classes.
Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Associate or higher preferred.
- Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN). Current CPR certification desired.
- Minimum two years’ experience in long term care management. Prefer long term care experience as a floor nurse or like position. .
- Excellent understanding of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.
- Ability to lead, motivate, educate, and evaluate others.
- Must have excellent assessment, planning, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with an understanding of person-centered care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including periodic weekends, holidays, and off shifts.
- Ability to work well with an interdisciplinary team and health care providers.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with team members.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff, and others. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
