What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care RN or LPN Full Time Only position at Windemere Park Senior Living Community?
The Wound Care Nurse will provide wound care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the Physician, Director of Nursing, and Wound Care Coordinator. The Wound Care Nurse will also assist with modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements of the state and policies and goals of the facility.
The RESTORATIVE NURSE - RN | LPN carries out patient-related restorative nursing functions which are pre-determined for each patient and assigned by Restorative Nurse in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards
Qualifications:
- Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in geriatric nursing. Prefer 1 year experience in a long term care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff and others. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to define and solve problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical journals and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult patients
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: restorative patient care,, direct patient care, patient rights, and safety and sanitation
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conductand completes mandatory Code of Conductand other appropriate compliance training
