A day in the life of a purveyor of petals might resemble that of a retail sales clerk except we sell delightful fresh flowers and gifts. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented person who would rather keep busy than to idly waste the day.
The position we are immediately hiring for is an opportunity to get your foot in the door of a skilled trade that could become a lifelong career. You could learn all aspects of the flower and gift shop industry.
We are looking for an upbeat individual to provide excellent customer service and help resolve client concerns. Candidates must have strong communication skills and demonstrate a welcoming demeanor with clients. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend appropriate product selections. You must be able to multi-task and adapt in a frequently changing environment.
Requirements:
- Monday - Friday Availability 12PM-5PM or 9AM to 1PM
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- General computer, POS, cash handling, & typing experience
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on available flowers and appropriate design styles for their occasion-specific needs.
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
- Suggestive selling of appropriate add-on items
- Processing incoming web orders, phone orders and in person orders after full verification of all information.
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Packaging clients' floral and gift selections to prevent breakages.
- Receiving hard goods & fresh flower shipments and processing and pricing accordingly.
- Ensure racks are fully stocked
- Weekly care of green plants
- Alert Store Manager to low inventory levels
- Daily cleaning of sales floor zones to include but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping
- Daily washing and disinfecting of buckets and vases
- Ability to follow direction or take initiative as the situation requires
- Willingness to accept and apply constructive criticism
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience:
- Retail sales in a flower shop or floral call center
- Retail sales in boutique gift shop
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
