Do you have a passion for microbial physiology? In this very hands-on position, you will be in charge of developing and enhancing our proprietary microbial communities that utilize C1 substrates like methane and methanol – from collecting field samples to enrichment, testing and characterization. Lots of room to get creative! We aim at building a collection of microbial consortia tailored to specific needs. Other tasks include designing and maintaining cell banks, inventory control, NGS data analysis, data analysis and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $150 - 160k, plus equity and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.

Key Responsibilities:
- Development and characterization of methane-eating microbial consortia and isolates
- Creating and maintaining cell banks and inventory records
- Designing and executing experiments with minimum guidance
- Work closely with our Fermentation and Screening teams
- Data analysis and presentation skills
- PhD in Microbiology / Biology / Biochemistry preferably with 2-6 years of industry experience. Post-docs with direct experience in methanotrophs and/or soil microbial consortia may be considered.
- Extensive experience in microbial physiology, especially soil microorganisms.
- Ability to execute projects with tight deadlines
- Good communication and collaboration skills
