What are the responsibilities and job description for the WMS Guidance Department Social Worker position at Windham Middle School?
Windham Middle School is seeking to fill the role of a Social Worker in our Guidance Department. Candidates must have the ability to provide a comprehensive, competency-based counseling program focused on learning and the personal, social, and initial career planning needs of a traditional middle school population of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Qualified candidates must have the core beliefs, values, and abilities which support our mission of “Success For All” students and staff. Candidates must possess a background in and experiences working with middle level students, staff, and families as well as the best practices associated with instruction at the middle level. Additionally, because we use the team model at WMS, candidates should have a background in and experiences with the team model approach to curriculum planning and teaching as well. Moreover, applicants must have a background in and experience with with utilizing Infinite Campus for the purposes of assigning courses and rooms to all students and staff, building a schedule for WMS, and running Ad Hoc reports for the Guidance and Administrative Departments about attendance, grades, behavior, etc. Lastly, candidates must have the appropriate ME certification as a Social Worker at the time of hire.
