Windham Northeast Supervisory Union (WNESU) is seeking a Math Coach/Coordinator to support our teachers and administrators, providing direction and leadership for district-wide mathematics initiatives. In this role, the Math Coordinator will oversee the administration, coordination, and implementation of the mathematics curriculum for grades K-8. They will also support ongoing, embedded professional development focusing on the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices and facilitate instructional team collaboration focusing on strengthening and aligning instructional practices across schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide direction and leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive mathematics curriculum for all K-8 schools including programmatic implementation, scope and sequence documents, pacing guides, balanced assessments, etc.
•Coordinate the purchase of instructional materials
•Assist with the refinement of district benchmark assessments for PreK-8 mathematics.
•Maintain knowledge of current research within the field of mathematics
•Assist with the development and facilitation of district and school-based professional learning for administrators and teachers.
•Provide supervision and evaluation for a team of math interventionists
•Prepare and present data-related reports for staff and school-boards
Work directly with teachers to:
•Review and evaluate assessment results and support them in the implementation of appropriate modifications to their instruction
•Provide flexible, needs-based support to guide learning (modeling, co-teaching, residencies, co-planning, observing, etc.)
•Utilize technology as a critical means for delivering, assessing, and transforming the teaching and learning of mathematics.
•Support the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices
•Facilitate student-centered instructional coaching cycles
•Facilitate professional learning communities with a focus on collaborative reflection
•Support coordination of district-wide MTSS model for mathematics instruction
•Assist teachers in the implementation of an MTSS system utilizing data-based decision-making
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Innovation and Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds or is eligible to obtain a Vermont Administrative License
Advanced degree in Mathematics
Five (5) years of successful classroom experience in grades K-12
Data analysis and interpretation skills
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, parents, and the community
PREFERRED:
Coaching and/or administrative experience
Experience as an interventionist
Knowledge of adult learner characteristics
