Job Title : Administrative Assistant III-SEM / SERS Assistant
Wage / Hour Status : Nonexempt
Pay Group : P20 Salary Plan
Primary Purpose : Provide assistance and program support to Special Education
Qualifications
Education / Certification / Experience :
High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
Three years of full-time, wage-earning general clerical, secretarial, or program support experience.
Type 45 net words per minute with no more than 10 errors on the appropriate Texas Workforce Commission or TDCJ typing test preferred.
This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Skill to develop, organize and maintain manual and automated files, data, calendars and correspondence.
Skill in the use of computers and peripheral equipment.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities and Duties :
1. Assist with compiling, preparing, and disseminating reports and reviewing forms and documents for completeness and accuracy.
2. Review Special Education Management System (SEMS) forms and profiles for accurate accounting of special education students and services.
3. Process and route communications within Special Education Department.
4. Receive visitors and assist in scheduling appointments
5. Create and maintain manual and automated files.
6. Compile monthly Special Education reports.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

8. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
9. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.
10. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
11. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
