Job Title: Education Aide II - High School
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Pay Group: P10 Salary Plan
Primary Purpose: Assist teachers in creating a safe and stimulating environment for students.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
High school diploma from an accredited high school or high school equivalency.
Two years full-time wage-earning experience in general clerical, secretarial or educational duties.
Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to work with students and teachers effectively.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist with the monitoring of the students participating in the program.
2. Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials.
3. Assist with administration and scoring of assessments and work assignments.
4. Maintain the security and inventory of computers and classroom equipment.
5. Facilitate classroom activities during the absence of the teacher.
6. Assist students at varying levels of educational achievement.
7. Assist with clerical duties as required.
8. Conduct instructional exercises as assigned by the teacher.
9. Work with individual students and small groups.
10. Assist in the supervision of students inside and outside the classroom.
11. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

13. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
14. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
15. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
16. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
