Description of Job: Windham Middle School and Windham Center School have an anticipated opening for a full-time art teacher. This position is itinerant between the two schools.
Responsibilities include:
Plan and prepare a program of study to meet the needs and interests of the students
Establish and communicate clear learning objectives
Develop age-appropriate instructional lessons to achieve the art curriculum goals
Demonstrate and assist students to use different techniques and media to develop artworks aligned with their artistic abilities
Encourage students to express their own personalities and thoughts through the creative process
Assess and evaluate student’s performance on a regular basis
Plan and present art displays
Teach students to apply elements of design and modern principles of art
Develop an aesthetic understanding and appreciation that allows students to make qualitative judgments about art
Enable students to create a functional portfolio of their art
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to collaborate with colleagues both within and outside of the department as well as work with students of all levels of interest, ability and age.
Qualifications: State of NH DOE certified in 0200 Visual Art Education Required
Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Windham Education Association.
