What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full time School Nurse position at Windham Southeast Supervisory Union?
Guilford Central School is in search of a full time School Nurse to join our team beginning in the fall of 2025. The School Nurses play a vital role to the health and well being of all students in our PK-6 school. This position of the School Nurse includes the planning for and care management of students with specific health concerns , such as diabetes, asthma and severe allergies. Other responsibilities include medication administration, emergency preparedness and planning, student and staff health educational topics, immunization verification, the maintenance of student health records according to HIPAA and FERPA laws, in-school health screenings and first aid.
The School Nurse plays a leadership role on 504 teams and Educational Support Teams, and with health education in classrooms. The School Nurse tends to the care of students on campus and as needed on field trips. As a mandated reporter, it may be necessary to report to the DCF and school administration as outlined in the "School Nurse Standards of Practice."Requirements: A current VT license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and current certificates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED); Vermont Agency of Education endorsement as a School Nurse, or ability to obtain.
