Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy within our high-volume, automated 3PL dry grocery warehouse. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and collaboration across multiple departments to ensure efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and RF scanner usage, with a commitment to upholding inventory integrity and operational efficiency. Forklift and reach truck certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. The role also involves system research, cycle counting, and working closely with various departments to ensure inventory integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure system inventory matches physical inventory with high accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Conduct and document cycle counts and audits to ensure compliance with inventory control requirements.
- Manage the damage and recoup process, ensuring accurate tracking of Free Bin, Donation, and Dumped products.
- Process inventory adjustments and monitor code dates to prevent product loss.
- Identify and correct blind loads through systematic research.
- Optimize slotting and bin utilization to improve inventory accessibility.
- Assist in claims processing for shortages, damages, and mis-shipments.
- Accurately utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanners for real-time inventory tracking.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA standards and warehouse safety procedures.
- Escalate unresolved inventory discrepancies or claims to the Inventory Control Manager.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for inventory audits, claims, and adjustments.
- Work closely with warehouse operations, procurement, and transportation teams to ensure cross-functional efficiency.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics within a 3PL dry grocery warehouse.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.
- Experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking and location updates.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
Equipment Skills:
- Must possess or be willing to obtain certification for operating a forklift and reach truck.
- Experience moving and handling inventory using warehouse equipment.
Problem-Solving & Research:
- Strong analytical skills with experience in claims and shrink research.
Communication:
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Attention to Detail & Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required for accurate inventory control and shrink research.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, automated warehouse setting with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Kroger, Greenstone Logistics, or similar 3PL operations.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems or Inventory Control Systems.

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and reach truck.
