What are the responsibilities and job description for the RANCH MANAGER position at Winding River Fishing Ranch?
Looking for a dependable individual with extensive knowledge in ranching, good credit and no criminal record. You must be clean and meticulous with a strong work ethic. The ranch has 5.5 miles of the Platte River and four large lakes. NO ONE CAN HUNT OR FISH ON THE RANCH. It is approx 6,000 acres. The ranch manager's house is approx 2,400 Sq Feet and under renovation. We are completely done on the outside and will finish the inside in Mid February. Its a 4 bedroom 2 bath house that will be like new. The renovation was extensive. The expectation is the ranch manager will live on the ranch year round and be available from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM if needed. The owner spends 10 days a month on the ranch. This is not a full time job. The current ranch manager works around 15 hours a week in the fall and winter and 40 hours a week in the spring and summer. You are expected to be available Monday to Friday as needed. You must have extensive cattle knowledge including, buying, selling, corralling, vaccinating, branding and moving cattle. High altitude cattle experience is important. Additionally you will be expected to clean the cabins monthly, maintain the roads and fences, stock firewood, water reporting, Irrigate hay, handle BLM and State leases and have knowledge of tractors. Salary : $45,000 a year plus free housing. You will be expected to pay your utilities and a housing deposit is required.
