Windmoor Healthcare , located in Clearwater Florida is a 144-bed comprehensive behavioral health care facility that provides a wide range of inpatient and partial hospitalization programs and services. Our facility has been providing intensive treatment of dual diagnosis issues and the comprehensive approach is highly individualized, designed to guide patients and their families through the process of intervention, assessment and treatment.
Windmoor Healthcare currently has an Recreational Therapist position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
The Recreational Therapist is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties :
- Integrates visual music or art (drawing, painting and other art forms) and the creative process with models Of counseling and psychotherapy.
- Uses the creative process of self-expression to help clients resolve conflicts/problems, increase self-esteem, self-awareness, and achieve insight.
- Performs in an effective and efficient manner, which is consistent with current standards for the position and with policies/procedures of the facility.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on client progress as required by regulatory requirements and professional standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Experience in rehabilitative services that may include educational, occupational, recreational, physical, art, dance, music, and speech therapies and vocational rehabilitation evaluation and counseling. Consultants include but are not limited to the following: educational instructors, registered occupational therapist/certified occupational therapy assistant, certified therapeutic recreation specialist, certified therapeutic recreation assistant, speech-language pathologist has certificate of clinical competence, registered and certified music therapist, registered art therapist, and registered physical therapist.
The qualified vocational specialist may perform duties of a rehabilitation counselor, vocational evaluator, or the work adjustment specialist.
- One (1) year of experience is required
- One (1) year of experience in psychiatric or chemical dependency field preferred.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Must be available to work on weekends.
- CTRS is a plus.
