Job Summary
Windows USA is seeking an experienced Residential Vinyl Window Service Repair Technician to operate as an Independent Contractor in an area near you. This role involves performing high-quality vinyl window and door repairs, glass replacements, and related service work on residential properties. As a 1099 contractor, you will manage your own schedule, provide your own transportation, tools, and insurance, and represent your business while partnering with a reputable company that offers consistent work opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair residential vinyl windows and doors
- Perform hardware replacements, glass replacement, and sealing
- Accurately measure for replacement windows and glass
- Install new windows and doors as required
- Operate a metal brake to create custom capping (preferred)
- Maintain a clean and professional work area on each job site
- Deliver outstanding customer service and communication
- Use an iPad-based CRM to document job status and updates
- Travel to residential service locations using your own reliable truck and trailer
- Dispose of job-related debris in accordance with local regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential window and door repair
- Proven skill in glass replacement, measuring, capping, and installation
- Must operate as a self-employed individual or registered business entity
- Own a suitable truck and trailer, along with required tools and materials
- Provide proof of current General Liability Insurance
- Lead certification preferred (but not required)
- Comfortable using an iPad and CRM software (training provided)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with a metal brake preferred.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor and indoor residential environments
- Physically demanding work including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Travel required within the designated region
