We are looking for Line Cooks to join our fast-growing team to provide high quality food and an unparalleled experience to our members and guests. This is a part-time position with a general schedule as follows:
Tuesday-Wednesday 11:00am-4:30pm and Thursday-Saturday 4:00pm-9:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Set up and break down work areas in a timely fashion
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Cook and prepare food according to guidelines and standards of each WindRiver location
- Ensure food is stored at the appropriate temperature for the appropriate length of time and follows all food safety standards
- Properly use and store chemicals according to MSDS regulations
- Complete daily temperature checks on refrigerators and freezers
- Evaluate food quality and preparedness by tasting
- Cut, trim, bone, and carve meats and poultry for cooking
- Responsible for using correct portions when cutting, preparing, and serving items
- Safely operate all kitchen equipment
- Receive and properly secure deliveries
- Count and report inventory and communicate items that are low in stock
- Proper labeling, dating, and rotation of inventory
- Assist with menu planning and provide feedback
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance to Supervisor
- Report all injuries immediately to your Supervisor
- Maintain professional appearance, behavior, posture, and hygiene
- Follow daily opening and closing checklists
- Follow daily/weekly/monthly routines to maintain acceptable standard of operation
- Ensure all utilities and equipment (TVs, fans, grill, etc.) are turned off at the end of the day
- Adhere to WindRiver's regularly updated COVID-19 response bulletin
- Attend all educational, safety, etc. staff meetings
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in the food service industry
- Culinary program certification preferred
- High School Diploma preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of food product, identification, and acceptable level of food quality
- Must know methods of food preparation, cooking times and temperatures, and portion sizes to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner
- Must be able to understand safety rules, alcohol regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Must be willing to work weekend, holiday, and evening shifts
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Excellent track record of communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to accommodate scheduling needs
- Work as a team player with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, climb stairs, twist, kneel, lift, push, and pull items weighing 55lbs. Must be able to stand and continuously move throughout the workday. Must be willing to work outdoors and be comfortable in varying weather.
