The Project Engineer will help manage the planning and processes of a project to ensure it is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Experience Level, Duties, and Responsibilities vary per project.

Project Engineer Job Responsibilities/General Duties:
- Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements
- Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
- Draft subcontractor agreements for review
- Attends site and owner meetings
- Oversee subcontractors and quality control and safety requirements
- Prepare and track RFI’s, Monthly Pay Requests and Purchase Orders
- Document Control: internals reports, tracking reports for equipment, time and materials, cost coding
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
- Helps to plan work schedule and keep schedule updates in the system
- Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
- Controls project costs by submitting expenditures and administering subcontractor contracts for review and approval
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

Project Engineer Qualifications / Skills:
- Requirements analysis
- Project Management & Supervision - may include company team and subcontractors

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline Preferred but not Required
- 1 years of project /field experience working in the heavy civil construction industry as a Project Engineer or QC TECH Required
- EIT Certification a plus
- Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software such as Primavera (P6) AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Procore
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external resources
- Ability to effectively prioritize duties based on project schedules and project needs
- Ability to self-manage with little or no supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
