Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Director to lead our recreational programs and enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of individuals in our care. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events, outings, and recreational activities that encourage participation from all residents.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and support residents' daily living activities (ADLs).
- Provide guidance and support for residents with disabilities, dementia, or other aging issues through tailored programming.
- Maintain a schedule management system to ensure all activities are well-organized and communicated effectively to staff and residents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through resident feedback and participation levels, making adjustments as necessary.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages resident engagement, creativity, and socialization.
Qualifications
- Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
- Background in caregiving or home community care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff members.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for all individuals served.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
