Job Overview:
The Assisted Living Nurse Delegator is responsible for overseeing and managing nursing tasks within our assisted living facility. This role involves delegating nursing responsibilities to certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and ensuring compliance with state regulations and facility policies. The Nurse Delegator will work closely with the nursing team, residents, and their families to provide high-quality care and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
Duties:
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities include the following:
- Delegation and Supervision: Delegate nursing tasks to CNAs based on their skill level and training. Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with the nursing team to develop individualized care plans for residents. Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated to meet changing needs and preferences.
- Medication Management: Oversee medication administration processes, including medication storage, distribution, and documentation. Train and monitor CNAs to ensure adherence to medication protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assessment and Documentation: Conduct regular assessments of residents' health status and document findings accurately in their medical records. Monitor changes in residents' conditions and communicate with healthcare providers as needed.
- Staff Training and Development: Provide initial and ongoing training to CNAs on nursing procedures, safety protocols, and resident care standards. Identify opportunities for professional development and support staff in achieving their career goals.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with state regulations, industry standards, and facility policies related to nursing care. Participate in quality assurance activities, such as audits, surveys, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open communication with residents, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and positive relationships.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate assistance as needed. Coordinate with emergency services and follow established protocols to ensure residents' safety and well-being.
