Responsible for providing professional care for clinic patients under supervision of the physician. Assists physician and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physician.
Essential Functions:
- Enter and manage pathology in IR
- Reminder calls to patients
- Chart prep
- Chart prep with Medent
- Type Thyroid FNA letters
- Fold towels
- Phone in IR-triage
- Possibly f/u calls for nurses
- Chart prep for Fluoro patients
- Manage film badges
- Repeat/reject rates
- X-Ray billing questions from Eunice
- Perform 2 FNAs/hour, 3 mornings a week.
- Monitor Coronary CTA exams
- High school diploma.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- Minimum of one-year medical assistant experience.
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols, policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, patient confidentiality and medical chart reporting/records.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
- React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Appropriately interact with patients, families, staff and others.
- Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communications skills.
- Basic lifting as required, not to exceed 30 pounds.
