What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School History Teacher position at Windsor Academy?
Windsor Academy is seeking a high school history teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. Windsor Academy is a Pre-K through 12th grade Christian school located in Macon, GA. Our vision is to provide students of Windsor Academy with the highest quality of education that generates a sense of pride in accomplishment and encourages a desire to exceed expectations.
Job Summary:
The high school history teacher will be responsible for teaching 2-3 subjects in grades 8-12 which may include Georgia history, world history, US history, government, and economics.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in history, education, or a related field. Advance degree is a plus.
· Certification: Valid teaching certificate in the assigned teaching field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Implement history curriculum that meets educational standards.
· Be willing to teach multiple history courses.
· Create and post engaging lesson plans each week which include a variety of teaching methods and use modern teaching techniques.
· Create and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding.
· Provide constructive feedback to students and parents in a timely manner.
· Establish classroom behavior standards and maintain a safe and organized environment.
· Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner.
· Interact with students, parents, co-workers, and all other stakeholders in a professional manner.
· Perform all assigned duties including, but not limited to, morning/afternoon supervision of students, gate duty at athletic events, fundraisers, etc..
· Support students in their academic and personal growth.
