Purpose for the Position:
To mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serves wine and other draught or bottled beer.
- Collects money for drinks served.
- Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies.
- Places bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
- May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
- May prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats.
- Performs in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
- Performs in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Responsible for compliance with all state and local regulations pertaining to the public operation of the hotel’s bar area, including maximum safe occupancy, emergency exit accessibility, smoke-free area maintenance.
- Responsible for knowing and recognizing in-state and out-of-state drivers licenses and state-issued identification cards.
- Required to be always in uniform when working on the property, including wearing a name identification badge.
- Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
- All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
Skills and Abilities:
- Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
- Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
- Move fingers and hands easily and quickly to handle things like dishes, money, and merchandise.
- Lift and carry things like heavy trays.
Physical Demands: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, and or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Requirements
- High school completion or an equivalent level of education and experience.
- Current Food Worker’s and Liquor Server’s Permit (if applicable)
- Bartending experience preferred.
- Demonstrate excellent public contact skills.
Attendance:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Windsor Hospitality from time to time, is essential to be successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance/ tardies will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Windsor Hospitality rules and regulations and will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Qualifications
