What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Windsor Public Schools?
- Collection of money for meals sold.
- Completion of daily deposits, and reports as needed.
- Ability to operate cash register/calculator/computer terminal with training on POS system and related reports generated, including calling parents regarding student balances.
- Maintain free and reduced information on their rosters or POS system.
- Assist other Food Service Workers in portioning, preparing and service of foods.
- Maintains inventory information of milk & ice cream and places weekly orders with the Food Service Manager/Director.
- Inventory items put out for a la carte sales, condiments, beverages and inventory at day end (reconcile on Production Form provided).
- Maintains sanitary and health standards in the following:
- Food Handling
- Cleaning of all areas
- Cleaning and care of equipment
- Implements all HACCP Principles and temperature logs.
- Maintains good public relations in the kitchen, school and community.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training as required.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Ability to work effectively with food service employees, staff and students.
- Ability to accurately count coin, bills and do simple mathematical calculations.

Purpose of Position:
Under the general supervision of the location Food Service Manager/Director the employee will perform a variety of semi-skilled duties including the maintenance of daily receipts and corresponding information with a complete understanding of Mealtime POS software.
Required Physical Effort:
Must be able to stand at an assigned location and work continuously for extended periods of time utilizing assigned kitchen or serving equipment. Must be able to carry, lift, move or put away food, supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 lb. Must have stamina necessary for the efficient performance of duties.
