- Install, maintain and repair end user devices, such as desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, projectors, or network and server technologies.
- Upgrade various hardware and software, as needed
- Administer user permissions and access rights
- Provide technical support via phone, email and/or virtual conference.
- Relocate equipment in district
- Organize projects and meet deadlines as assigned by the Director of Information & Technology and the MIS Manager
- Provide timely and accurate responses to assigned tasks and tickets according to Windsor Public Schools policies, procedures, and best practices
- Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes
- Prepare hard copy and online documentation to improve user knowledge and correct usage of district technologies and applications
- Maintain and update inventory of all technology equipment on a regular basis
- Travel between schools and central office as necessary on a regular basis.
- Work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
- Oversee the administration of, or supervise one or more specialty areas, i.e. CTE computer labs with specialized software, and/or audio visual systems typically found in auditoriums, music, and performance classrooms.
- Collaborate with Technology Department members and recommend sound corrective solutions for resolving a wide-range of technical issues that require complex troubleshooting skills
- Perform cost/benefit analysis and recommend for purchase commercially available software and hardware products
- Proactively secure and protect Windsor Public School District’s digital assets and information systems, as well as maintain confidentiality
- Be respectful and personable toward all technology users–students, staff, parents, and others.
- Stay current with technology changes by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, utilizing internal training resources, as well as obtaining industry recognized certifications.
- Consult with and provide expert advice to staff, students, committees, or special interest groups using school facilities regarding hardware and software usage for specific purposes.
- Strong knowledge of technology and how it operates, including, but not limited to operating systems (Windows, MacOS, iOS, ChromeOS), networking equipment (switches and access points), and interactive projectors, TVs, flat panel displays, badge readers, and peripherals.
- Strong technical knowledge of IP networks, Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and GPMC. Knowledge of server virtualization, a plus.
- Strong knowledge of maintaining, customizing, troubleshooting, and supporting mobile devices. Experience with Chromebooks and Google Admin Console strongly preferred. Experience with MacOS and iOS, a plus!
- Working knowledge of software related to the educational needs of the district including Google Workspace for Education, Adobe, and office productivity.
- Working knowledge of communication systems for data, audio and video.

- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and training, and three or more years of experience in computer technical support, computer consulting, and/or computer operations that demonstrates knowledge and ability to work well with people as they resolve technical and A/V problems according to complex plans and procedures in a fast-paced, team environment.
