High School Counselor

Windsor Schools 2024-2025 High School Counselor Windsor Schools in Windsor, Vermont is in search of a highly qualified school counselor for the 2024/2025 school year. Our school is dedicated to a student-centered approach through projects, an integrated curriculum, differentiated instructional strategies, and proficiency-based learning. We value educating the whole child through a team approach - and are an enthusiastic, inclusive community committed to student agency and self-directed learning. The school counselor will work within the school to support the Social Emotional needs of students, teach SEL classes, support staff in developing approaches that help students be successful in the classroom environment, participate in the MTSS process, support Hazing Harassment and Bullying investigations, and connect with families who need outside supports. Prefered candidate will have knowledge of Power School. Interested applicants should have some form of clinical experience and must be endorsed - or eligible for endorsement, as a Vermont School Counselor. Job description includes: Familiar with and strives to follow the ASCA National Model. Familiar with the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success. Proficiency in Powerschool and College Planning. Familiar with or willing to learn about Responsive Classroom. Familiar with or willing to learn about Collaborative Problem Solving. Have strong de-escalation skills. Should have a Growth Mindset; is flexible and a team player. Is computer literate and has good communication skills. Must be willing to engage in advocacy for students and their families. Provides community outreach and crisis intervention. Familiarity with Personalized Learning Plans and guidelines.
