Essential Job Functions ADON:
An Assistant Director of Nursing, or ADON, manages the nursing team, in a long-term care facility. They hire and train staff, create schedules and conduct employee evaluations.
- Oversee nursing staff and operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Mentor and train nursing staff.
- Conduct rounds to assess patient care.
- Collaborate with teams to develop care plans.
- Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care provided to achieve clinical and financial outcomes.
- Provides professional guidance and supervision to non-professional staff.
- Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice and the needs of the patients.

Experience
Required- 3 year(s): Experience as an ADON / Nurse Manager-Supervisor
- 3 year(s): Experience in Infection Prevention and Control
- Prior work experience in acute or long-term care.
- 3 - 5 years: Demonstrated ability to perform independently as a clinician with minimal supervision or assistance.
Education
Preferred- Associates or better in Nursing
- Bachelors or better in Nursing
Licenses & Certifications
Required- REGISTERED NURSE
