The Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union is situated on the banks of the Connecticut River in
southeastern Vermont. Our SU comprises three Vermont villages and town school districts to
provide learning environments for students from pre-kindergarten to grade twelve. Educating
students from Windsor, West Windsor, Hartland, and Weathersfield, school structures include
one K-6 elementary school, two K-8 elementary/middle schools, one K-12 school, and a
supervisory union-wide early childhood educational program.

Summary:
Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union is seeking an innovative, creative, and dynamic educator
to lead our Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction Department. The Director of Curriculum,
Assessment, and Instruction is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and
evaluation of the instructional program across all schools within the Windsor Southeast
Supervisory Union. This role focuses on ensuring that curriculum, instruction, and assessment
practices support high academic standards, equitable access, and continuous improvement
aligned with Vermont’s educational standards and district goals.
Qualifications:
● Education: Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational
Leadership, or a related field. Vermont administrative licensure or eligibility for licensure
is required.
● Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years of leadership
experience (preferred) in curriculum development, instructional coaching, or
school/district administration.

assessment design.
○ Ability to analyze data effectively and use it to drive instructional decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development and Alignment
○ Oversee the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of K-12
curriculum across all content areas to ensure consistency and alignment with
Vermont’s state standards and district goals.
○ Collaborate with principals, teachers, and district leaders to create and
implement curriculum maps, pacing guides, and resources that support
differentiated instruction and student engagement.
○ Integrate culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices into curriculum
planning.
2. Grant Management
○ Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications, including narratives, budgets,
and supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with grant requirements and
district goals.
○ Monitor compliance with grant requirements, ensuring all funded programs
meet state and federal regulations, including those unique to Vermont.
○ Prepare and submit timely and accurate progress and financial reports to grant
funders.
○ Develop, monitor, and manage grant budgets in coordination with the district’s
finance team.
3. Assessment and Data Analysis
○ Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment system that includes
formative, summative, and standardized assessments to track student progress
and support data-driven decision-making.
○ Analyze student performance data by demographic factors, such as gender, race,
and socioeconomic status, to identify achievement gaps and provide actionable
recommendations for improvement.
○ Support staff in using data to refine instructional practices, identify student
needs, and monitor progress towards district goals.
4. Instructional Support and Professional Development
○ Design and coordinate professional development for teachers and instructional
staff focused on effective teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and
data-informed instruction.
○ Provide coaching and support to instructional staff to foster innovative and
inclusive classroom practices, ensuring equitable access to high-quality learning
experiences for all students.
○ Collaborate with school leaders to assess professional development needs and
ensure alignment with district priorities.
5. Educational Equity and Inclusion
○ Champion equity initiatives by promoting instructional practices that ensure
access and opportunity for all students, regardless of background or ability.
○ Work closely with district leaders to develop policies and practices that address
disparities and support an inclusive, supportive learning environment for every
student.
6. Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
○ Conduct regular evaluations of the effectiveness of curriculum, instruction, and
assessment programs, recommending adjustments as necessary to improve
student outcomes.
○ Stay informed of research-based best practices, educational trends, and state or
federal policy changes impacting curriculum and instruction.
7. Collaboration and Community Engagement
○ Collaborate with school and district leaders, community members, and other
stakeholders to promote a shared vision for academic excellence and equity
across the district.
○ Engage with families, school boards, and community partners to communicate
progress on instructional initiatives and gather input to inform curriculum
decisions.
