Position Summary:
We are looking for a self-driven, detail-oriented Property and Casualty (P&C) Business Analyst with a strong sense of ownership and a problem-solving mindset.
This position is responsible for working directly with various departments to elicit and document business system requirements for the Operations department and our software developers. This includes assisting in the research, design, testing, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of systems in addition to sprint planning and researching production problems to resolution.

Essential Functions:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
· Translate business needs into functional specifications for systems and processes.
· Create and maintain detailed documentation, including workflows, use cases, and business rules.
· Lead efforts to implement approved system changes, including documenting requirements and obtaining sign-off.
· Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, digging into lower environments to identify root causes and drive solutions to completion.
· Lead projects and provide regular, actionable status reports.
· Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, developers, quality assurance analysts, and other team members.
· Ensure an exceptional Customer Experience with clear, concise communication with stakeholders and continuous process improvements.
· Write and execute detailed test plans, track technical issues, and coordinate necessary fixes.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
· 3 years as a Business Analyst with a proven ability to dig into complex issues and deliver results.
· 3 years in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, ideally with experience in California home insurance, including specialty lines (CA E&S) OR experience in FL Residential Commercial lines.
· Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance products, underwriting, claims, and policy lifecycle.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to troubleshoot and apply logic to solve business problems with minimal supervision and a willingness to dig into the details of specific projects to ensure the appropriate approach and best use of company resources.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in California home insurance, including specialty lines (CA E&S).
· Experience in FL Residential Commercial lines.
· Familiarity with P&C insurance systems like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar platforms
· Proficient in business analysis techniques, process modeling, and data analysis.
· Experience with tools like SQL, Excel, Visio, Jira, or other project management tools.
· Experience with comparative raters and understanding of XML/SOAP.
· Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus
