Sales Associate/Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and assisting with sales. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage cash handling will be essential in creating a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, processing sales transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions and products to effectively sell and upsell items.
• Assist in inventory management by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Uphold store policies regarding returns, exchanges, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Experience with retail math is a plus to assist in inventory management and sales analysis.
• Previous experience in a cashier or sales role preferred but not required.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous for communicating with a diverse customer base.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries.
• Ability to supervise junior staff or assist in training new employees is a plus.
• A friendly demeanor with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
