What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Attorney Hybrid Schedule position at Wine Country Family Law, P.C.?
About the job
Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney licensed in California who is passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives to manage our Mendocino County caseload. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in litigating child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce in California is preferred. A minimum of 2 years recent experience as a practicing attorney is required.
Our ideal applicant is a detail-oriented "people person" with exceptional writing skills and the ability to use technology and systematic processes to manage a steady caseload. They should be a self-starter who enjoys autonomy but can also work collaboratively within a team.
We offer a competitive base salary (below) plus bonus incentives, a generous vacation package, 3 floating holidays, 12 additional holidays, health insurance (choice of several plans including Kaiser and Sutter), dental insurance, vision insurance, chiropractic insurance, acupuncture insurance, a comprehensive annual professional development allowance, and optional participation in the firm's 401k plan with generous employer matching contributions. Depending on the firm's performance for the year, we may close the office and provide additional paid time off during the December holiday season.
In addition, we offer a drama-free (no partner infighting, no nepotism) supportive workplace. Our team members range from over 2 years to 16 years with the firm (with the exception of our newly opened Petaluma office team). Our attorneys work 2 days in the office, and 3 days from home (with the option to work additional time at the office, according to the employee's preference). We offer a flextime schedule, as well. Our team meets daily via Zoom for a brief morning meeting and works closely together to ensure our clients receive the best service. Our paralegals each have decades of experience in family law and are the backbone of our firm. We are selective in the cases we accept. We currently do not accept domestic violence cases, guardianship cases, CPS-involved cases, termination of parental rights, contempt matters, or pre/post-nuptial agreement matters. We do not offer mediation, limited-scope services, or free consultations. We strive to keep each attorney's caseload under 40 total cases so we can give each client the attention they deserve and avoid attorney burnout. Management does not tolerate clients or others who are abusive to our team. Family law is challenging. We make sure our team is taken care of!
