JOB SUMMARY
The International Finance Specialist will work directly with the Director of Finance to manage and enhance the organization’s financial operations, domestically and across international field offices. The International Finance Specialist will contribute to budget development, revenue strategies, and financial reporting while maintaining adherence to financial guidelines. Additionally, this position will contribute to maintaining budget accountability, managing accounts receivable, coordinating internal and external financial statements, and supporting audit activities. The role also includes responsibilities for evaluating accounting operations, implementing improvements, and providing valuable insights to aid in decision-making. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Budget Management & Development
- Collaborate with the international programs team to develop comprehensive budgets for global initiatives.
- Establish and implement budgeting processes for international teams, creating scalable frameworks that support consistency and adherence to guidelines.
- Provide regular financial forecasts and reports to aid decision-making processes.
Restricted Gift Management
- Track and manage restricted gifts, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and requirements.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting the impact of funds used.
- Work closely with the fundraising and development team to understand and document donor expectations.
International Financial Support
- Create and refine processes for international teams on financial practices, including expense tracking, and reporting.
- Provide training and mentorship to international staff on budget management, reporting requirements, and financial best practices, establishing a knowledge base within each field office.
- Establish a review and approval system for financial documentation from international offices, enhancing accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial data related to international programs and provide insights to improve financial efficiency.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership and program teams.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline financial workflows and improve internal controls.
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the primary finance liaison between the international programs team and the finance department.
- Lead strategic financial planning sessions, ensuring program goals are well-aligned with financial sustainability and organizational priorities.

International Finance Training
- Implement organizational financial standards in field offices.
- Provide training and support for international teams, when needed.
- Facilitate international team involvement in the budget process.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with 3 years working in an international nonprofit organization.
- Experience managing an international programs budget of $3-$4 million.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial statement preparation, and internal controls.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is a strong plus, particularly experience with international program teams.
- Strong ability to create efficiencies and manage details.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present insights clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating across departments and with Leadership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, DOCUMENTATION, AND SAFETY
- Sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; the employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift 25 pounds. Exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures and various living conditions may occur. Must be able to operate motorized vehicles with a valid license.

THE TEAM
This position reports directly to the Director of Finance. There will be constant opportunities to collaborate with all Wine To Water team members and take the lead on various projects and activities. Opportunities to lead interns on the Finance Team and organizational work teams, investing in their professional development and training.
