GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role involves reporting and monitoring compliance activities, and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate risks, with a specific focus on the alcohol beverage industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate records to support tax filings and audits
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates to proactively identify areas where the company may be at risk of non-compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Collaborate with employees across various departments to gather insights and feedback on compliance practices and potential areas of concern
- Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters
- Regularly review and analyze company operations, procedures, and documentation to ensure they align with regulatory requirements
- Conduct thorough investigations into any reported compliance concerns or incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Other things will come up from time to time, and we’ll ask you to be involved with them. We like to keep things interesting
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience in regulatory compliance or wholesale supply chain; OR a minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance or wholesale supply chain
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and handle multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Very comfortable in Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in alcohol beverage regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of distribution, logistics, and/or inventory management
- Basic SQL skills and a solid understanding of database management
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
- Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs. but you can get help when you need it.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Continually work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional loud noise, but not that often
- Occasional varying environmental temperature changes, but not much because remember, wine likes to stay cool.
