What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Special Education Teacher position at Winfield Scott Elementary?
For the 2025-2026 School Year:
Successful candidates for this position will have a commitment to helping all students succeed at academics and social interactions with peers and adults. This position involves working with students across a wide variety of abilities at high school level. Fort Scott USD 234 is a progressive and child-centered local education agency, with an emphasis on family
friendly practices.
Current Kansas teaching license with appropriate endorsement is required, or applicant
would be eligible and willing to pursue a licensure waiver for the position.
Position is open until filled. Anticipate start date: August 1, 2024.
Duties for the position: leading IEP teams in delivering of IEP services, completing
assessments and reports, managing IEP paperwork, supervision of para staff, assisting
and supporting teachers, communicating with parents, leading IEP and team meetings,
maintaining adequate records and progress monitoring data as required.
