Job Purpose: The Chemical Room Technician is responsible for mixing and preparing cement glue for use in the production of inflatable boats. This role ensures that the adhesive is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety, adhering to company guidelines and production schedules.
Structure: The Chemical Room Technician reports directly to the Production Supervisor. They work closely with the production team, quality control, and safety officers to ensure the smooth and efficient preparation of cement glue.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Cement Glue:
- Accurately measure and mix chemical ingredients to prepare cement glue according to specified formulas.
- Monitor the mixing process to ensure consistency and quality.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of the cement glue to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Adjust mixtures as needed to maintain the desired properties of the adhesive.
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling chemicals.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure the chemical room is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Inventory Management:
- Keep accurate records of chemical inventory and usage.
- Notify the Production Supervisor when supplies are low and need to be reordered.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the production team to coordinate the supply of cement glue.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the Production Supervisor.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean mixing equipment and tools regularly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical handling environment.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of chemical mixing procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing ingredients.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials as required (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
