POSITION PURPOSE:
Join our team of facilities maintenance technicians! We are looking for someone who can enhance the team with the following skills:
- Understanding of small electronics and light electrical - Have you ever maintained various residential facilities by wiring 120V or 240V (single phase) lighting? Can we give you a small electrical project and you know exactly what parts you need to purchase to make it happen?
- Ventilation and ducting - You do not need to be an expert, but if you have experience installing hard or flexible ducting, installing fans (both in-line and exhaust), we can teach you what we know for you to continue to grow in this area. Or better yet, you can teach us!
- Pneumatic plumbing - this is just a fancy term for systems that distribute compressed air to various tools and equipment to operate. We use a lot of this at the factory and would like someone who understands, and preferably, has worked on these systems. We know a lot of auto shops use this technology - so if you know how to maintain and work on it as well, we would like to speak with you.
- Besides the above, this position will be part of a team that maintains the entire facility from maintenance of machines to groundskeeping. You can handle inspections and equipment repair to small carpentry projects building workbenches, sawhorses, and upkeep of jigs and fixtures for our plant assembly teams. You will be asked to handle small plumbing jobs, such as changing out toilets and replacing plumbing fixtures. Dump and small supply runs, office moves, and facility upkeep is part of the job as well.
- For someone who can run small projects (maybe you have experience as a residential maintenance person), our supervisor would welcome help with maintaining the flow of work orders and handling a project or two from cradle to grave. We can give you the title of Senior Maintenance Technician and allow your initiative and expertise to shine). We are busy ... no lack of work here!
- Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years experience as maintenance technician or light carpentry/plumbing/electrical handyman
- 1-2 years experience and various trade school experience
- Knowledge of the materials, tools and equipment used in construction, maintenance and repair of facilities, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical.
- Knowledge of working with safely, including use of chemicals; proper operation and maintenance of hand and power tools, vehicles and equipment
- Operation of Company vehicles and industrial trucks (will be trained and certified; requires Drivers License)
- Basic mathematical computations; effective customer service dealing with other departments around the plant(s).
- Read, understand and interpret a wide variety of technical and non-technical manuals, specifications and work orders
- General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry preferred
- All tools provided. Of course, you can bring a personal toolbox if you like.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time
- Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, and up to 150 pounds with assistance
