About the Role :
Wing is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our Hardware Reliability team based in Palo Alto, CA . The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, experience with failure modes of hardware in harsh environments, test design and documentation skills, the passion to derive simple solutions from complex data, and the ability to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. As a Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling new technologies in the early stages of development. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, execute tests, and perform failure analysis. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.
What You'll Do :
- Define and execute design verification test plans for electronic and mechatronic flight hardware
- Collaborate with development teams to improve hardware reliability based on experience, standards and best practices, test data, and / or analysis
- Analyze lab test data and field data to calculate failure rates and recommend design improvements
- Write or adapt computer scripts to perform tests and analyze data
- Perform root cause analysis and failure analysis
