Program Description:
Wings is an innovative and growing company that provides co-occurring (substance use and mental health disorder) residential care to adolescent residents and their families. Wings residents receive services from a multidisciplinary in-house care team including Mental Health Professionals, Addiction Counselors, Social Workers, Nursing Professionals, Art Therapists, Case Managers, Fitness & Nutrition Coaches, Yoga Instructors, and Mentors.
Job Description:
This position will provide nursing care services to adolescents in a residential setting. Wings provides both traditional and holistic care to clients with mental health and substance use disorder needs.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in assessing and monitoring residents’ general medical needs
- Conduct resident orientation pertaining to residents’ medical needs
- Assist in the implemention of resident care plans
- Support and supervise residents experiencing medical emergencies
- Care for resident injuries as needed
- Coordinate resident appointments with physicians and psychiatric providers
- Assist in the completion of residents’ medical discharge planning
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of residents for self-injurious behaviors
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of residents experiencing acute and post-acute withdrawals
- Maintain record keeping consistent with Wings' standards
Minimal Qualifications Include:
- Hold and maintain LPN licensure
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Experience working with adolescents
- Experience working with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes:
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to network with external care providers
- Social, boundary, and attachment skills necessary to develop caring relationships with residents
- Demeanor conducive to effectively managing a wide variety of medical needs
