What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Sales Representative position at Wings Credit Union?
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Meet with eligible Members to review their health care plans, assess their needs and ensure they understand the services and coverage available to them. Provide recommendations on supplemental insurance options, including prescription drug, vision and dental policies. The Sales Rep is also responsible for initiating and executing investment and insurance campaigns, generating leads and driving sales within the assigned territory. This includes developing and implementing marketing strategies to identify and engage potential clients. Additionally, provide member facing education, sales training for credit union staff, and business development initiatives aimed at increasing member engagement and adoption of investment and insurance products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Focus on serving Medicare eligible Members with finding a plan that meets their needs and assist with the enrollment process.
- Work with other qualified groups, such as those with disabilities, to determine the right Medicare and healthcare plans that meets their needs.
- Meet monthly sales goals.
- Executes a strategic marketing plan to enhance brand awareness for the credit union.
- Develops and implements a communications and marketing strategy to drive effective sales for investments and insurance divisions.
- Ensure all communication materials produced align with regulatory requirements and adhere to the established policies and procedures of the credit union and broker dealer.
- Conduct presentations and seminars to educate Credit Union staff on the Investment and Insurance product offerings.
- Partner with Business Development team to conduct enrollment meetings at major employers.
- Represents credit union at events to promote our products and services to Members and prospects.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of Operations staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, business management, finance, or mass communications.
- An active MN Life & Health Insurance license or ability to obtain one within four weeks is required.
- 5 years of strong sales and service aptitude and experience.
- Experience within the Medicare industry and experience in a financial institution including sales/marketing of like products preferred.
- Training experience preferred.
- 3 years’ experience with varying marketing and lead generation efforts preferred.
- Strong personal projection, confidence, and sales experience or aptitude.
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Superior verbal skills and writing ability.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentations skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet sales goals.

Pay Range: $60-$70k base salary plus incentives/commission and 3% annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
