What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Specialist position at Wings Credit Union?
Job Summary:
The Recovery Specialist is responsible for mitigating Wings’ credit losses, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of required documentation, and providing general administrative support to the Department.
Essential Functions:
- Review and process all bankruptcy communication, update bankruptcy log and act as liaison between Wings and the Bankruptcy courts and attorneys.
- Completes Reaffirmation Agreements and Proof of Claims associated with bankruptcy filings.
- Initiates repossession assignments, and performs appropriate follow up to ensure timely recovery of collateral
- Conducts all post recovery work including service contract refunds, GAP refunds, and CPI claims.
- Reviews and approves auction prices for sale of Wings’ collateral.
- Preparing accurate and timely lending and collection reports.
- Processes pre and post charge off accounts ensuring timely referral to attorney or collection agency.
- Processes credit bureau disputes in accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Provides administrative support to the collection department including processing mail, posting of payments and processing invoices.
- Serve as a liaison between the Department and Wings Legal and Loss Prevention Departments.
- Provide support for Courtesy Pay, assisting with monitoring and transactions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of equivalent work experience preferred.
- Entry level knowledge of applicable bankruptcy laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and collections software and databases.

Pay Range: $20-$22.00/hr plus 3% annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
