What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Commercial Credit position at Wings Financial?
Job Summary :
Responsible for strategic leadership of Commercial Credit Administration efforts for Wings Credit Union. This position will oversee Commercial Credit and Operations and have responsibility for policies and procedures for Wings' Commercial Lending. Also responsible for carrying out the objectives of the department as well as related initiatives in support of overall corporate goals through successful collaboration with departments, vendors and Executive Leadership Team.
Essential Functions :
Provide strategic leadership for the Commercial Operations team to ensure Wings meets and exceeds member expectations via timely and accurate underwriting, adherence to Wings' policy and procedures, and effective communication with Commercial Lenders and members.
Develop leaders and build bench-strength through effective coaching, communication, development of individuals and team members.
Leverage data and analytics to develop, document and maintain credit strategies which improve effectiveness and reduce delinquency and credit loss levels. Provide reporting and facilitate planning sessions to improve process flow, cycle time and member service.
Continuously developing vision and strategy that supports Wings' strategic objectives.
Identify emerging lending trends and provide credit underwriting recommendations.
Lead efforts to maintain consistent credit policies and procedures to ensure they are current and reflect the needs of the organization.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of internal policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Partner with Wings Senior Management Team and VP of Commercial Services, determine overall loan portfolio composition and stratification to ensure a well-diversified Commercial Lending portfolio.
Lead loan workout and special asset process to maximize recovery and minimize levels of adversely rated commercial loans.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Participate as a part of the Senior Leadership Team, Business Loan Review Committee (BLRC), and serve on other committees as needed.
Meet with members periodically to discuss possible changes in business management, financial trends or industry changes.
Provide guidance to Lenders on structuring and approving complex loan requests.
Continuing education and networking to gather knowledge of changing industry trends.
Participate in community activities and civic organizations to increase Wings' community involvement visibility.
Serve as a resource to the Commercial team, members of the BLRC and Credit Committee for credit training.
Provide escalation support on complex issues between the team and external vendors and members to enhance department efficiency.
Approve loans and exceptions within authority levels granted by Wings lending policies.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degrees, applicable certification and / or demonstrated ongoing mindset of learning, growth and increased levels of accountability, knowledge preferred.
Strong understanding of credit and lending policy, with demonstrated experience to execute and influence.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in commercial credit leadership roles.
Proven experience in portfolio management including commercial collections and loan workouts.
Extensive knowledge of commercial credit regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the senior leader level and across functional groups and business units.
Experience managing 3rd party vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Pay Range : $170k-$225k plus 20% annual target bonus and LTI. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
