Job Title: Head of Firmware Engineering
LOCATION: El Segundo, CA (Onsite)- W2

Contract Length: 12 Months

Looking only w2 candidate

Seniority:

8 - 15 years of experience in firmware engineering with extensive hardware exposure

Work Experience:

• Has played a role in recruiting or building out a previous engineering team
• Has previously implemented embedded CI/CD pipeline for firmware specifically.
• Worked with companies that produce fairly low cost, custom hardware; has fast iteration cycles; and brings up electrical products from scratch (e.g., consumer electronics, toys)

Hard Skills:

• Basic electrical engineering skills (incl. ohm's law, board level circuit debugging, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzer)
• Industry experience with new board bring up
• Experience with C programming
• Comfortable with low level and bare metal embedded programming
• Has a strong understanding of modern software deployment practices (i.e., intricacies of release workflows for git, CI/CD of software)
• Experience with embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN BUS, and custom protocol design)
• Microcontrollers and ST Microelectronics experience
• Experience with FPV drone software: ELRS, BetaFlight, BLHeli, BlueJay
