YOUR IMPACT | Wingstop is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Engineering Manager within our Digital/eCommerce space to lead development team building solutions that focus on performance, usability, scalability, and standards for our Digital/eCommerce platform. You will play a key role in translating business objectives into technical plans, monitoring system performance, and driving improvements that contribute to both user satisfaction and business success. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in growing and mentoring your team, attracting top engineering talent, and ensuring that our systems remain at the forefront of industry standards. - Manage a team of software engineers, including providing guidance on their career progression, planning, and continually challenging them to raise the bar.
- Be accountable for delivery, deployment, maintenance, monitoring the performance of the application and the platform.
- Strategically planning and prioritizing the backlog, assigning tasks to team members, tracking project execution and mitigating any observed risks
- Communicate with stakeholders, product owners, other technologists, and users to create software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
- Guiding the team in design, architecture, implementation, validation, and monitoring, leveraging your experience to identify potential pitfalls and set coding standards.
- Actively participating in code reviews to help the team deliver robust, maintainable, and high-quality software.
- Ensure that your team maintains a high bar for quality and follows established engineering and operational guidelines.
- Participate in future product direction, drive technology strategy and execution.
- Create a backlog of Tech Debts/ Features, suggesting areas of improvement and ensuring short-term decisions don't build into long-term problems.
- Fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and promotes a sense of belonging and respect. Prioritizing, delegating, and supervising all engineering activities and deliverables, providing strategic technical input and solutions when needed.
- Managing the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of engineering talent to build and maintain a skilled team. Conducting performance reviews, setting objectives, and facilitating career development plans for team members.
- Manage technology roadmaps, drive innovation by leading POC’s, and driving adoption of AI/ML based solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO | - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; master’s degree preferred
- 12 years total experience in IT development.
- 2 years of experience in a leadership position in a technology group with a proven track record for business capability delivery and talent development
- Hands-on experience implementing systems using eCommerce platform (having experience with package solution like Commerce Tools, Salesforce is a plus)
- Experience in leading the teams working on MACH (Microservices, APIs-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture using C#.NET/Java, Spring boot, GraphQL.
- Experience in full stack development team, teams developing FE using technologies like Angular/React/React Native and backend using microservices architecture
- Experience with traditional RDBMS like Oracle or Postgres, NOSQL like Cassandra or MongoDB or Apache Ignite
- Advanced understanding of automation IaaC, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Integrated with messaging platforms e.g. RabbitMQ/ Kafka/ cloud messaging/ enterprise messaging
- Applied distributed caching solutions like Redis, Memcached, etc.
- Experience in Public Cloud platform – AWS or GCP or Azure
- Experience with developing and managing applications across multiple data centers is a plus
- Experience in monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and designs to a broad range of people
- Strong experience in using Agile (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe) project development methodologies
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business and technology landscapes
