Description
WINN Design Build is seeking a talented Associate Architect to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in the design, documentation, and management of high-end residential remodeling and new construction projects. As a central figure in the design process, the Associate Architect will provide technical expertise and design aspects to ensure that client needs and visions are met, while maintaining exceptional design standards and project efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 2: Design Development
- In coordination with the Project Architect, manage design revisions and incorporate input from clients, consultants, and internal teams and collaborate with team members in the design development drawings and creating construction documents.
- Ensure projects adhere to all relevant building codes, standards and regulations.
- Develop written specifications and finish schedules, tracking and updating architectural selections as needed.
- Provide technical expertise to the junior members and the team.
Phase 3: Construction Administration
- Provide support during construction, ensuring the design intent is maintained and resolving field issues in collaboration with the Project Architect.
- Attend project site meetings to review progress and address any discrepancies with the Project Architect.
- Prepare and track architectural punch lists at substantial completion.
- Manage coordination of long-lead and specialty-order items with vendors and the production team.
General Responsibilities
- Represent WINN Design Build in a professional and respectful manner.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current design and construction trends, materials, and products.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the success of all assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Accredited degree in Architecture (BArch or MArch) or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential architectural design; licensure preferred
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Chief Architect, or Revit
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and residential construction practices.
- Experience in all phases of project development, from schematic design to construction documentation and administration.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, consultants, and team members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and SketchUp is a plus.
- LEED certification and familiarity with sustainable design practices.
Salary
$75,000 - $90,000 per year
