Job Summary
Maintains systems, equipment, and facilities by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising a small staff of 2 to 3 maintenance mechanics. Formulate ideas and implement new capital equipment and technology in the foundry to further expand capacity and efficiencies. This position is a part of the production management team.
This is a first shift position working Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
Ø Maintains function and reliability of foundry equipment, associated systems, and facilities by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Overall goal of reducing manufacturing downtime.
Ø Contributing ideas, and managing projects through internal and external means for new capital improvement projects. This includes contracting outside services and equipment manufacturers as necessary. Leading continuous improvement projects. Overall goal of increasing capacity and productivity, while making our foundry a safer place to work.
Ø Maintain facilities and grounds to operational levels and recommend future needs.
Ø Improves function and reliability of facility systems and equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
Ø Continuous communication with production leaders to ensure equipment is operating at peak levels, and foster continuous thinking of future improvement opportunities.
Ø Accomplishes maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Ø Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
Ø Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; attending industry technical sessions, reading technical publications, and taking advantage of other educational avenues as they arise or are needed.
Ø Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Ø Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ø Knowledge of electric induction furnaces a plus.
Ø This is a hands-on position at times. Ability to lift 50 LBS, work standing up for 8–10-hour shifts, climb ladder, and work on elevated surfaces safely.
Ø Flexible work to extra hours as needed to complete projects
Ø 1-5 years working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment is a plus.
