Cafeteria Assistant

Winnebago Mental Health Institute(WMHI) is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents and adults and is looking for Limited Term Employees (LTE) to work approximately 20 hours a week as Food Service Assistants (FSA2) in the cafeteria.

The FSA2 (Cafeteria) serves quantity foods, cafeteria style, for approximately 200 people including 85 to 100 modified diets. Assembles trays and nourishments for patients; monitors sanitation and safety; and upholds the security in cafeteria areas.

Qualifications: This position requires the following:

• Ability to work scheduled hours as needed, which may include weekends, holidays, early morning or early evenings.
• Previous food service or food production experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Training and/or experience using a computer to enter data.

In addition, well-qualified candidates will have:

• Knowledge of basic sanitation, hand washing and safety standards in a food service environment.
• Customer service experience.
• ServSafe (or equivalent food service certification).
• Experience working cooperatively as part of a team.

Job Details:

All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB screen and other pre-employment health assessments prior to their start date.

These positions have physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 30 lbs. in the cafeteria, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping, standing, sitting and working on feet for extended periods of time. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
