The Occupational Therapist (OT) plays a critical role in helping students succeed in the school environment by addressing their unique motor, sensory, and related cognitive needs. This position requires collaboration with teachers, parents, and school staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, a commitment to equity, and the skills necessary to assess, design, and implement therapy plans that enhance students’ participation in school activities.
General Responsibilities:
•Assess students’ functional abilities and needs related to performing tasks within the school environment
•Design and implement therapy programs to improve motor, sensory, and related cognitive skills
•Provide individual and small group therapy sessions to enhance skills such as gross and fine motor coordination, visual perception, and sensory processing
•Modify classroom activities, assignments, and materials to support the full participation of students with disabilities
•Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students’ school performance
•Ability to create individualized therapy plans based on evidence-based practices
•Proficient in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support student engagement and participation
•Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple caseloads and deadlines efficiently
•Ability to educate and provide training for teachers and school staff on therapy techniques to reinforce skill development
•Document and report on students’ progress toward therapy goals
•Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop, review, and revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
•Strong understanding of child development and best practices in occupational therapy
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families
•Cultural competence and an understanding of how diversity and inclusivity impact students’ learning experiences
•Ensure confidentiality in accordance with both HIPAA and FERPA as appropriate.
•Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Education Requirements:
•Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
•Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in New Hampshire
Certification Requirements:
•Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
•NH State licensure
•Valid Driver License
Skills:
•Ability to provide school-based therapy in alignment with both best practices in the field and in accordance to District policy as well as State and federal laws and regulations
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to lift and maneuver therapy equipment as needed
•Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
•Strong organizational and documentation skills.
•Willingness to travel between school sites within the district as required
•Flexibility to manage varying caseloads and schedules
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations effectively

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
