WinnMed is seeking a full-time Coding Specialist to join our Health Information Management Department (HIM) Team! T he Coding Specialist is responsible for applying diagnostic and procedural codes to patient visits for retrieval, analysis, and claims processing . This position will work closely with providers in to improve coding specificity and accuracy. Work schedule
- Typically, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts; Day shift.
- No weekends, no holidays.
- Remote work is an option after completing the required in-person training and orientation.
- Completion of a Health Information Management program required
- AHIMA certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required within 6 months of employment
- Previous coding experience preferred
- Working knowledge of an electronic health care record and document imaging system desired
- Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
