ABLE Classroom Paraprofessional
Location: Winnsboro Junior High Campus
ABLE (Academic and Behavior Learning Environment) is a learning environment designed to meet the diverse needs of students in special education who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioral challenges. The primary focus of services through ABLE support is to assist in closing the social, emotional and behavioral deficits, so that the students can perform both academically and socially in grade level general education settings with limited to no Special Education support over time. Support covers a range of options including, but not limited to positive behavioral supports, reinforcement strategies, teaching of replacement behaviors, and developing skills to understand another person’s point of view. The ABLE classroom staff will provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
The ABLE classroom paraprofessional will have the opportunity to earn a stipend for Applied Behavior Analysis Training and their Registered Behavior Technician Certificate.
